No sugar, no coffee no booze… 21 days.

I’m usually deeply skeptical of detoxes (mainly because I can’t be bothered to deny myself any of the above for any length of time) but I can’t deny being intrigued when some of my fellow instructors did the Ultimate Reset. I’m in. All the way. They look so vibrant and energetic. Okay, and yeah, lost a little body fat too. Let’s be honest, 95% of my interest is vain. 😉

So we have a Facebook group of people starting the reset on October 8th and… yeah, it’s not going to be easy. But nothing worth doing ever is. So many of the things that go wrong with our body (thyroid issues, food sensitivities, blood pressure, type 2 diabetes) are caused by the foods we eat. A little processed food probably won’t kill you, but if you’ve eaten a diet of nutrient-free food for the majority of your life, a little processed food here and there won’t do you any favors.

So the idea is to get your body back to its “factory settings.” And then to eat healthy, clean foods with occasional “unclean” foods thrown in. I think I’ve used this analogy before… let’s say you have a brand-new, sparkling clean house and someone comes in and leaves a pair of muddy boots in the hall. No big deal, right? Easy to clean up. But let’s say instead your house is a fixer upper. A disaster. Crap everywhere. You have carpets that need replacing because the prior owners didn’t clean up after their pets. Dirty windows… walls that need to be sealed and re-painted because of the lovely chain-smokers (can you tell I’m speaking from personal experience?). A pair of muddy boots in all that mess? It just adds to the disaster.

So here’s hoping that 21 days after October 8th (um, that would be October 29th?) you’ll find Lizzie’s ol’ carcass fresh and spanking new. Yes, before and after pics will be posted. GULP. Um, maybe I’ll just email them to you. 😉

If you want in or more information about what the heck we’re doing, click here. Message me if you want in on our little support group for people doing this reset. OH, by the way, we’re supposed to limit physical exertion on this thing, so we’ll see how THAT goes…

And after this is all done? I’m rewarding myself with a new workout program. Les Mills’ Body Combat. It comes highly recommended and I am ON it.
